Who the Hell is maadjurguer?

My photo
I like to ski, mountain bike, drink beer, cook and listen to any jam band I can get my hands on; all while making a complete ass of myself. Hopefully this catharsis is as interesting to others as it is to me.

Proud Mary

A new member of the harem only comes along once in a while.....

...and while she's still blue, she comes with magic too.

There's a lot to compare to the older one...but there's a lot of new too.....

.....cooling fins on brake pads

....and a rear derailleur with a switcharo....

The linkages look similar, but this is where the similarities come to an end.....

On my inaugural ride (climb), I became aware that I had been deceived....the world is in fact, flat.......

You still have to pedal.....but pedaling slower gets you farther....this bird will go far, and I will take her there.

Left a good job in the city
Workin' for the man ev'ry night and day
And I never lost one minute of sleepin'
Worryin' bout the way things might have been.......

Big wheel keep on turnin'
Proud Mary keep on burnin'
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.....

Congrats on the new 429. Got mine in Feb - love it. Put about 500 miles on it so far, amazingly fast and stable.

Quick question: What rear tire ar you using? Don't know if you noticed, but the rear wheel clearance is marginal. I'm running a GEAX AKA 2.2 and have about 1/8" of clearance. Can't ride anything damp before it clogs.

I'm just running the stock Slant 6's right now, hoping to get some Bronson's to try soon...I did notice the clearance issue....it's kinda a pet peeve these days....

Limited rear tire clearance is the Chris Cocalis build style. Just get comfy riding a skinnier-than-you're-used-to rear tire. All my Cocalis-designed bikes have been like that too! No worries on it.
